Adult and Pediatric FA/CPR/AED and Bloodborne Pathogens Training

This course will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants and meets OSHA/workplace requirements. This is a blended learning course including an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skill session. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class portion and must be taken on a PC or tablet with a high-speed Internet connection. Allow approximately 2 hours 30 minutes to complete the online portion.  Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a digital certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years. The additional bloodborne pathogens module is designed for those who are at risk for on-the-job exposure to blood and other bodily fluids in the workplace. The course teaches staff how bloodborne pathogens are spread, how to avoid exposure and what to do if exposed to infectious material. This course is one of the requirements of the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard. After taking this course, students should talk with their employer about their workplaces specific policies and procedures. Those who complete the training receive a Bloodborne Pathogens Training certification.

Babysitter's Training And Pediatric First Aid/CPR

Babysitter’s Training and Pediatric First Aid/CPR provides youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to give care safely and responsibly for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; and learn about basic childcare. The course also includes first aid and Pediatric CPR. The recommended age for this course is 11-15 years old.

You do not need to be a member of the YMCA to participate in this program.

Class needs at least 6 participants to run.  If less than register, we may have to cancel or reschedule the class.

Basic Life Support-Blended Learning Class

This is a hybrid course with both online and in person requirements.  The 2021 Basic Life Support (BLS) course provides healthcare providers and public safety professionals the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult, child, and infant patients. BLS is the foundational CPR/AED program typically required for healthcare providers and public safety professionals. Using online learning, lecture, skills demonstration, practice, and case-based emergency response scenarios with a focus on team-based response, BLS builds the key critical thinking, problem solving, and team dynamic skills that are needed to drive better patient outcomes.  Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive a 2-year Basic Life Support digital certificate with anytime, anywhere access to certificate and training history.

First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Course-Blended Learning

This two-day course will train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED courses. In order to participate in this course, you must possess a current basic-level American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED (or higher level) certification or equivalent and be at least 16 years of age on the last day of the instructor course. Upon registration, it is important that you review and follow the directions on the e-mail attachment sent with your registration confirmation. This is a blended learning course consisting of online content, a pre-course skills session and classroom segments. Online material must be completed prior to attending the classroom activities. For more information, please reference the attachment you will receive via e-mail when you register for this course.
